I would like to share with you my journey into raw foods.
I was first introduced to the concept over 20 years ago. My dear friend,
(now almost 60 and in radiant health), healed her ovarian and colon cancer with raw foods. At that time, I had never heard of such a thing. However, I was so intrigued knowing that if someone could heal their body from cancer…. I wondered what we could do with this powerful tool, for prevention.
At that time, I purchased my 1st juice machine and started drinking green juices.
I'm going to fast forward my journey to 2007. That was the year I started working at
as a Health, Nutrition and Wellness Counselor. Please understand that at this time, my personal clients were among the sickest of the sick. People with Lyme, diabetes, various cancers etc.
Getting people off of chemicals, GMO grains, sugars etc is one thing, and is a great thing; but people in a health crisis need the most therapeutic, medicinal foods on the planet. Raw foods, living foods and green juices are the fastest track to getting someone healthy that I know of. Consuming green juices daily is the closest thing to giving ourselves an instant blood transfusion. Need to cleanse your organs naturally? Mmm… the medicinal sprouts and living foods are the answer.
I started working more closely with many of the physicians at NIHA and their patients. When we coupled their holistic and natural therapies with raw foods, the results were stunning. I sincerely never thought I would see results like this in my lifetime. Using raw food techniques, we were able to achieve results some might consider miracles. People started to catapult their way to super-health. Even many of the doctors and staff started pulling me aside, happily stunned by the results we were getting with patients.
My reputation for being a TOUGH, raw food nutrition coach spread…. Quickly. I soon found myself with a private practice I could no longer handle as there weren't enough hours in the day. I was seeing clients every day of the week from
7am, sometimes until
10pm. I realized my model of teaching would need to change or I would become sick myself.
The Raw Food Institute
I decided to design and launch The Raw Food Institute. That was in 2009. Since then, we have grown to become an internationally recognized organization. I personally speak on stages across the country such as Annie Appleseed Project, The Raw Living Expo, Take Back Your Health and many, many more. I'm also a contributing author to two different books. The Raw Food Institute is located in Simsbury, Connecticut. We hold four, 7-day retreats per year. They consistently sell out. Our participants fly in from around the globe. They travel in from Australia, Mexico, Bermuda, Bahamas, England, Germany, and all across the United states.
In 2013 The Raw Food Institute won these two awards:

2.) Medical Awareness for Raw Foods, in honor of the work I do with holistic physicians across the country.
