What Language Are You "Feeding" Yourself and your Children?

What to say when talking to your kids about food

For years, I've worked with parents who are moving toward healthy eating and healthy living.  The challenge is that once the parents flip the switch, and recognize the importance of eating healthy, how do they convince their kids that this is a wonderful thing to do?  I've developed a list of quotes that I use in my house, with my own kids.  They work beautifully because kids recognize  that you, the parent, are making these changes out of deep love for them.  It is soooo much easier to get them on board when they understand this.

I suggest:

-Add your own phrases to this list
-Print this list out, and tape it inside your kitchen  cabinet, your day planner etc and refer to it often

LANGUAGE CARRIES TREMENDOUS POWER!

Phrases to say when talking to your kids about food

 “The best for the best.”

“We eat healthy because I love you to pieces.”

“I am so proud that you make healthy choices.”

“I am happy that our family is a healthy family.”

“I like it when you do things that are good for your body.”

“We don’t choose bad food because it hurts your tummy and I don’t want you to be hurt.”

“No food dyes for my kids!”

“No chemicals for this family.”

“I don’t want to eat anything that sounds like that, do you?”

“Let’s read this food label together, because you know what to throw away.”

“I am fortunate to have kids that like to eat healthy.”

When you start speaking to your children this way, and to yourself this way,

you are literally creating neuropathways leading to healthy decisions for an entire lifetime!

I'VE GOTTEN THE MOST AMAZING FEED BACK FROM PARENTS WHO START IMPLEMENTING THIS LANGUAGE!
