“When you sit…. You rot!” This quote by Cathlene Scoblionko MSN, RN, ANP-BC, is perhaps my favorite quote of the week at The Raw Food Institute, recently held at NIHA, National Integrated Health Associates integrative medical and dental center.
How many millions of times have you heard, “You should really exercise!” Blah, blah, blah…. Okay, but has anybody ever said to you, “When you sit, you rot!” Makes for a little more motivation, don’t you think? It puts a whole new perspective on fitness, don't you think?
There are new studies out which state that even if you exercise, if you spend the rest of your day just sitting… You’re in trouble!
Let me ask you this question: When you got up this morning, did you ask yourself, “Hmm, should I brush my teeth today, or not?” Of course you didn’t! So why do we ask ourselves if we should exercise or not? It should just be part of what we do during the day! A ritual.
Movement is Nature’s # 1 Anti-Depressant!
Here are some good reasons to exercise:
1. Lymphatic drainage
2. Improved blood circulation
3. Noticeable improvements in your skin
4. Sweat those toxins out
5. IT MAKES YOU FEEL AMAZING!
After a session of exercise, did you ever say to yourself…. “Gee, I really wish I hadn’t done that?” NO—Of course not! So strap on your tennis shoes, pull your hair back and get out there!
Become an active participant in your own life!
**NOTE: Always consult with a medical professional (your doctor) before starting any exercise or fitness program!
