Plantar fasciitis is a very prevalent condition in the United States.

Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis

-Pain! Foot and/or heel pain.  Symptoms of plantar fasciitis can vary, but in general the first few steps taken when you get out of bed in the morning are very painful. The fascia stretches from the ball of the foot to the heel and there can be sharp pain on the bottom of the foot, then as you start to move the foot loosens up a bit and pain starts to subside.

-Callouses on the bottom of the foot indicates more weight on this part than the rest of the foot and may be indicative of plantar fasciitis.

-Bunions, or dry thick heels can indicate pressure on that part of the foot and can become a problem over time.

-Check your arches and see if there is indication that they have dropped and are not supporting you the way they used to. The video will illustrate testing the arch to see if you are still getting good support.
